Hämeenkatu: Illuminating the Heart of Tampere City

Inspiration and influences for the design of the pole has come from nature and from history of the city of Tampere. The twisted shape of the pole contains a little hue of the diverse structures of nature. The way how different parts of the pole are linked together reminds of the structure of old trolley bus poles in Tampere in mid 20th century. Shape of the pole is exposed and petite blending in to the surrounding architecture still providing a distinctive identity for the main street of the city. The luminaires mounted to the pole are able to cover the whole street from pedestrian street to the tramline.
