Tammerkoski rapid

One of the national landscapes of Finland has been brought to light again. Hundreds of years of Finnish idustrial history stands out in night time cityscape majestically in this milieu of Tammerkoski. Renovation project of the illumination took years of design and construction. Our assignment as designers was to rethink, modernize and expand upon the outdated lighting adorning this kilometer-long waterway in the heart of Tampere. Lighting of Tammerkoski Rapid was awarded as a winner in LIT Lighting Design Awards 2020 in Heritage Lighting category. Photos by Skyfox Marko Kallio.
